Arsenic Pollution paragraph At present arsenic pollution is a great problem in Bangladesh. Arsenic is a poisonous white metalloid. Now this element is detected to be present in large quantities in the tubewell water of many districts of Bangladesh. It causes a kind of health hazard. Press report on this matter are drawing attention of all classes of people to be aware of it and also to take all possible preventive measures. Drinking of water polluted by arsenic causes many diseases like sores and stomachic troubles. Drinking arsenic polluted water for a long time may cause death. The best remedy is to drink arsenic free water. Optimistically, Bangladesh Govt. has taken measures to test each and every tubewell in the country and red-marked the arsenic contaminated ones. People now drink water from tubewell that are not red-marked. So the causes of arsenic affected patients have been reduced significantly. World bank and some other donor agencies have assured all possible assistance to the govt. to solve arsenic problems.
